I must confess
I fall in love all the time
There are so many beautiful humans on this spinning orb
Each person I fall in love with
Has an entirely unique mansion in this heart
With some I stand witness
Feeling entirely humbled and inspired by their greatness
Grit
Strength
Tenacity
Warmed by their desire to be my friend
Others challenge me
To rise to the heights of love
Calling me out of myself
To love them the way they need love
Pulling me out of my smallness
Into who I could be
They push me away
Until I return to myself
I don’t know what I would do without these lovers
Who help me burn the bridges
To who I was
Still another friend, gave me one of the biggest gifts of all
Opening a door within, his name inscripted
Wherein I found a whole universe of my heart that had never seen the light of day!
What joy those days did bring, tears of opening, poem upon poem
And still, when I re-enter this particular corner
I find myself a child again – in joy, at peace
Seen, loved, appreciated, walked beside by someone so strong and real
Countless more loves, I carry in my heart
Sending my love wherever they go
I wouldn’t have it any other way
To be in love
Is to create a whole new world with another
A place that only exists when you both are there
And each time you visit it gets cozier, homier
More wild, free, and magical
Portals are real
Magic is far more solid than asphalt
It’s what we’re made of
So go!
Fall in love
With a tree, a rock, a person
And then do it again
Each time
Is once in a lifetime
