The Far Country

Waterfalls and glistening blades of green grass, spreading wide…

Welcome home, beloved.

You’ve been here all along

The agony you’ve been experiencing

Has simply been

The separation

Of this spirit

From your body, mind and soul.

Your life is hidden here, your spirit has been waiting

For your return

Waiting for you

To ride wild stallions across these hills

Sleep under shimmering stardust

Watch pink and gold sunrises over salty lips and palm branches

So you could dip one toe in the ocean and know

That you are every shark, whale, sea otter, starfish

Every grain of sand

Know

That you have always been loved

With the wracking intensity

Of that moment

You saw heaven in the sunlit sand

When the wind teased the towel off your sleepy face

Loved that much

So much that there’s hardly room

For your shuddering lungs to suck in air.

One day, sweet one, you will be strong enough to breathe

Only and ever the exhale of my love over you

Pulling it deep into every dry crack of your earth

Allowing it’s wind

To blow away the shadows

For good.

Let yourself be consumed

Like the Son

As the sun, burns itself, endlessly

Trust the rising
